Charles Daniel's Parentage

Charles Daniel Juchau was born to Lewis Charles Juchau and Martha Dugdale on 29 May 1822 in Saint Luke Old Street, Middlesex, England. He was the oldest of at least 11 children.

The following is Charles' christening record, dated September 28, 1823. He was christened at the same time as his younger sister, Martha. Martha had been born on August 28.

Lewis and Martha were married by banns two years earlier on August 5, 1821 in St. Giles without Cripplegate, London, England. Both were living in the parish. Lewis is listed as a bachelor and Martha as spinster. Here is a copy of the marriage entry.

I'm not sure how significant it might be that Lewis and Martha were married in one parish and began having children in another--the localities are close to one another and I believe that it may be simply that both were living with their families prior to the marriage and they moved into a place of their own once they were married.
